Rigid Substrates

For more than 30 years Holt has lead the sublimation industry in printing for apparel and domestics. In addition to fabric substrates, our unique process can be applied to a variety of rigid substrates. This application brings a new dimension to the embellishment of wood, metal, glass, MDF, FRP, ceramic tile and much more! These substrates must be specially coated to accept our dyes, and the results are amazing! Photo-real images and textures can be reproduced with unbelievable clarity and definition, and the possibilities are endless!

Some of the current and potential uses are:

  • Firescreens

  • Decorated Panels for Furniture and Cabinetry

  • POP Displays

  • Indoor Signage

  • Picture Frames

  • Photo-Real Marble Tiles

  • Dry Erase Boards

  • Ceiling Tiles

  • Clocks and Much More!

Advantages of Holt Sublimation Printing:

Advantages of our process over traditional imaging techniques include:

  • Low cost sampling with quick turn around time. Using our HRS system, we are able to produce small sample runs very economically. It is an inexpensive way to see your concept before you commit to production.
  • Low commitment for volume compared to other processes– unlike screen print, foils and melamine, our volume commitments are not prohibitive and give you more flexibility.
  • NO engraving costs – we use direct to plate technology that eliminates the cost of gravure engraved cylinders associated with some screen print processes. Plus, we apply your HRS charges directly to the prep costs for the production run, saving you money and time!
  • Exact image matching – our technology produces PHOTO-REAL images. This means any image is possible. You are not limited by color, texture, clarity, contrast, or any other parameter in getting the image you want. The highest resolution attainable by screen printing is 55 lpi, while our process achieves 155 lpi – 3 times the resolution.
  • It is possible either to see the characteristics of the substrate (i.e. wood grain) or we can create an opaque backing for the image, so it is all you see.

We welcome inquiries from architects, furniture manufacturers, building product developers, manufacturers and retailers looking for innovative ways to decorate their projects or products, as well as anyone else that sees an advantage to our photo-real imaging process. We look forward to talking with you soon!
